SATURDAY JULY 1st
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. I luckily had this entire week off and have been enjoying every minute of it. I was able to spend lots of time with great friends and family. Never a dull moment this week with all the activities and celebrating going on. At the beginning of the weekend I started off by making the long trek over to Rhinelander, WI to visit one of my best friends from college. On Saturday we spent the day going on a nice long pontoon ride with a parade of other boats to the sand bar. What better way to start celebrating the 4th of July and America’s Birthday than with great company, refreshing food and drinks and on the water?! We all had a blast being out in the sand bar and boats all day. Lots of laughs and many memories made.
SUNDAY JULY 2nd
On Sunday my best friend Sarah and her boyfriend Quinn and I went to one of the neighboring towns where Quinn grew up and they brought me to the cutest little windmill ice cream shop. The actual shop itself was a windmill and inside it was decorated with cute red and white boarded walls with red tables and chairs and dainty cow curtains. I was so obsessed with the fun atmosphere of this little hidden gem. We picked out our favorite flavored scoops and then walked over to the bridge to overlook the water and wave to the boats driving by in the water. Also if you are wondering, I went with a double scoop of strawberry swirl in a waffle cone…. it was perfection!
After enjoying our delicious ice cream we headed over to the only local bar in this down called Mary’s. This bar has tons of cute character. It is just a small little place but has the friendliest of people around and they are known for their Moscow Mules so of course I needed to try one out. In my opinion, they get a 10 out of 10 rating!
