Living in a northern state means we have all four seasons. Hot summers, cold winters, colorful falls and rainy springs. In the heat of summer we still manage to be blessed with the lake breeze and chilly nights. This happens to be one of my favorite perks of living near the shore. After being out in the sun all day, getting to cool down in the evening with a walk along the water is a breath of fresh air.
Minnesota cool evenings means we never fully put away all of our sweaters or longer jeans and pants. My closet tends to always be fully stocked with apparel for any temperature that may arise. For this evening lake walk I decided to stick to some basic staples in my wardrobe. These pieces not only keep me warmer on a cool night but they still fit into my summer style as well.
I paired a grey knitted layered tank with my distressed light washed denim jeans and to finish the look I wore my go to summer white converse slip on sneakers. Having these pieces in my closet have made my styling of outfits so easy. Basics first, trends second is my motto. You can always style basics into any trend that you are going for, that is why they are called essentials.
